Maserati has recently announced that the final production version of the Kubang SUV will be officially presented to the public in 2014 at the Detroit Motor Show.
After making its world debut back in September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Maserati Kubang is once again placed into the spotlights, this time by the guys at Automotive News Europe, who are saying that the final production version of the SUV will be officially presented to the public at the Detroit Motor Show in 2014.
“After Beijing, we will retire the Kubang concept. Our SUV will reappear in its production form and with its final name in due time”, as the company’s CEO, Harald Wester, told our source.
Maserati is planning to sell about 20,000 units of its Kubang SUV annually, most of them in the United States and China and the luxurious crossover will go against the upcoming Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley EXP 9 F SUV. As a small reminder, the Maserati Kubang Concept is actually based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was being powered by a 3.0 liter Pentastar V6 engine, putting down 350 horsepower, but for the road going version of the crossover, Maserati might use a larger 3.9 liter V8 unit, built by Ferrari.
