The Italian based automaker Maserati is planning the introduction of the Levante at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, next March.
Details on the development of the Maserati Levante have been going around for a few years now and in this time, several prototypes have been captured on camera by spy photographers from across the Old Continent. However, this news isn’t your regular one because it is referring to the quote of the Maserati CEO, Harald Wester, who has announced the debut of the brand new Levante. According to the guys from Autocar, quoting the Maserati official, the company’s first ever SUV will be officially presented to the public at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
Our source is saying that the pre-production of the crossover will begin shortly and the first units aimed towards their future customers will be rolling off the assembly line by February next year. This basically means that we will get to see the brand new Maserati Levante in a premiere ahead of its public debut. The carmaker’s executive has also confirmed plans for a plug-in hybrid version whose specs are not known for the moment but the “green” powertrain will also be offered in the Ghibli and Quattroporte by 2018. Replacements for the Granturismo and Grancabrio are also being planned. More details on Maserati’s future lineup or the Levante crossover are limited at this time.
