Starting June 2016 the updated Quattroporte model will join the roster of the Italian premium marquee, with the model’s current generation having run though the middle of its lifespan.

The Maserati Quattroporte has been on the market in the current generation for the past three and a half years and has achieved almost 25,000 deliveries in 72 countries. The Italian company has officially unveiled the refreshed vehicle, which sports a fresh design for the bumpers – complete with matte black profile at the front and matte black extractor at the rear. The radiator grille has also been redesigned and now has new vertical chrome elements. The subtle exterior changes are being rounded by the modified exterior mirrors and the matte black side skirts. There’s also an electrically adjustable Air Shutter between the air vents and the engine’s radiator, allowing for better control of the engine’s fluid temperature. All the improvements have brought a ten percent reduction of the aerodynamic drag coefficient.

Moving inside we can find a finer atmosphere with a modified dashboard that houses a capacitive high resolution Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible infotainment system, complete with 8.4-inch screen with multi touch function. There’s a “single seamless design” for the screen, new climate control, and new drawer. Owners can also add a new optional package of assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control with stop and go function, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with advanced brake assist, and automated emergency braking.

Maserati’s top of the line sedan will keep the same powertrain options. The top choice is the 530-horsepower (390 kilowatts) 3.8-liter Ferrari-derived V8 Twin-Turbo. The company’s 3.0-liter V6 engine has been massaged for another 20 hp (15 kW) for a new total of 350 hp (257 kW). The 3.0 V6 diesel unit is now coming with increased top speed. And the model also adds two distinctive GranLusso and New GranSport trims that can be connected to the V6 range – while coming standard for the Quattroporte GTS.
