The Italian based automaker Maserati is planning to develop a new coupe based on the GranTurismo sports car, which is expected to hit the market over the following years.
Maserati is currently on top of the wave and with the new generation of the Quattroporte being unveiled a few weeks ago, with the Ghibli sedan rumored and with the Levante SUV getting ready to hit the market soon, the Italian based automaker has more plans for its future models. After receiving the funds needed to fuel its expansion from Fiat, the carmaker is getting ready to produce a new coupe based on the GranTurismo.
The new model will not be just another version of the current GranTurismo, like the base, the S, the Sport, the MC or the various drop-top models, and it will actually get a new body work and a more powerful engine under its hood. The new twin-turbo V8 engine developed by Ferrari for the new Quattroporte might be shared with the future GT sports car too, but official info on the subject remains unknown for the moment. Unfortunately we don’t have any more details on the subject but we will keep you updated once the model is officially confirmed for production.
