The Japanese based automaker Mazda has recently announced its plans to introduce a sedan version of the brand new Mazda3.
After it was officially introduced just a day before writing this article, the new generation of the Mazda3, which is wearing the 2014 model year in its name, is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with an announcement regarding a sedan version. Besides this, Mazda will also introduce a hybrid sedan version of the new Mazda3 in Japan, while the U.S. might get the 2.2 SKYACTIV-D diesel engine. Additional details on the Mazda3 Sedan are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its launch.
As a quick reminder, the regular five-door Mazda3, in the 2014 model year, has received the Kodo design language, highlighted by the soft curves, the five-point grille, the tailgate mounted spoiler and the flowing surfaces. The cabin of the model is coming with higher quality materials, more comfortable seats, a new instrument panel, a new infotainment system and some other tweaks. As for the engine lineup, this includes, across the U.S., a choice of two petrol engines, the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV-G, with its 155 HP (115 kW) and 150 lb-ft of torque (203 Nm) and with the 2.5 liter SKYACTIV-G, producing 184 HP (137 kW) and 185 lb-ft of torque (250 Nm).
