Mazda CX-5 launched in Japan

The Japanese based automaker Mazda has recently announced that the new CX-5 crossover has been launched in Japan, and the model has a starting price of JPY2,050,000 ($26,132).

According to the car manufacturer, the new Mazda CX-5 will be offered in Japan in two new generation engines, both with the company’s SKYACTI Technology, which means that the model will deliver superior fuel economy. The all-new Mazda CX-5 is coming in its local market with the SKYACTI-D 2.2 liter diesel engine, with its 420 Nm of torque and 18.6km/L fuel consumption, and with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 liter gasoline unit, with the company’s 4-2-1 exhaust system offering 16.0km/L.

“To ensure that we can do so, Mazda has completely renewed all the basic elements of the car, from the powertrain including engine and transmission, to the body and the chassis. The first of Mazda’s new generation of products to fully incorporate our SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY is the CX-5. As we launch new products moving forward, Mazda will continue to offer all customers driving enjoyment combined with outstanding environmental and safety performance”, said the MMC president and CEO, Takashi Yamanouchi.

The new Mazda CX-5 is coming with the KODO – Soul of Motion design them, along with features like the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Traction Control (TC) and Smart City Brake Support (SCBS). Prices for the new Mazda CX-5 start at JPY2,050,000 ($26,132) and they can go up to JPY3,190,000 ($40,665).
