The 2016 Mazda CX-3 has been officially introduced as this will be making its public debut in just a few hours during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Mazda’s newest creation is finally here and it’s a new entry-level crossover, which will be positioned below the current CX-5. Just as expected, the model in question has been called the CX-3 and it has received a familiar design, with the KODO design language written all over its body and the obvious influences coming in from its larger brother, the CX-5. The brand new ride has a prominent front grille, plastic body cladding, sweptback headlights, blacked out C-pillar, curvaceous body work and several other tweaks to help it differentiate.
As far as the cabin goes, this has been carried over, mostly, from the Mazda2 and it includes the gloss black accents, the metallic trim or the circular air vents, while on the more expensive versions, we will find the Mazda Connect infotainment system and the heads-up display. Across the United States, the model will be coming with a 2.0 liter SKYACTIV-G petrol burner, connected to the SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission, while Europeans will receive the two 2.0 liter SKYACTIV-G engines, along with the brand new 1.5 liter SKYACTIV-D diesel, connected to a SKYACTIV-MT manual or a SKYACTIV-Drive transmission. FWD will be standard and AWD will be optional. The new Mazda CX-3 will go o nsale in the U.S. next summer and it will rival models such as the Renault Captur, Opel Mokka, Nissan Juke, Ford EcoSport and so on.
