Mazda is announcing a new crossover concept which will be named the Koeru and will be making its public debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The teasing game has begun for most automakers as the 2015th edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show is coming in pretty fast. The newest company to announce a one-off model for the German automotive even is Mazda and the vehicle has been called the Koeru Concept. In Japanese, “koeru” means to “go beyond” or to “exceed” and rumor has it that this might be offering a preview for a production CX-4.
“As the latest embodiment of Mazda’s ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design theme, Mazda aimed to impart the KOERU with the power and vitality of a wild animal while maintaining a sense of refined dignity. The latest SKYACTIV Technologies ensure the model provides outstanding environmental performance without compromising on Mazda’s renowned driving pleasure”, said the automaker in its official press release.
The Mazda Koeru Concept will be a pretty big jump for the car manufacturer in the midsized crossover segment and its sloping roofline will be making it a direct rival for the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and for the BMW X4. The model will be getting the Kodo design language but keep in mind that this is still a concept car and that the final production version will be most likely introduced a few years from now. Additional details on the new Mazda Koeru Concept are limited at this point and will be announced during the 2015th edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
