The 25th anniversary of the Mazda MX-5 is being celebrated with the unveil of a special edition of the roadster, during the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The Japanese based automaker Mazda is currently celebrating 25 years of the Mazda MX-5 with the so-called 25th Anniversary Edition. The model in question is based on the current generation of the roadster and it has nothing in common with the future generation. The 2014th edition of the New York Auto Show is basically a funeral and a birthplace for the Mazda MX-5 because this is also where the carmaker will be presenting the chassis of the future-gen of the drop-top.
The Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary is based on the Roadster Coupe, coming with a retractable hardtop and a single color, the Soul Red Metallic. Design touches include the contrasting black roof, the wing mirror caps and A-pillars, the 25th Anniversary logo on the leather seats, the Billstein dampers or the 17-inch alloy wheels, finished in Dark Gunmetal. Prices for the Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition are yet to be confirmed. Additional details on the limited roadster edition remain unknown for the moment and will be announced once it will be presented in New York.
