Mazda MX-5 gets power boost from BBR image

The British aftermarket specialists at BBR have recently pulled the wraps off their latest creations, two supercharger packages for the Mazda MX-5.

According to the guys at BBR, the Mazda MX-5 is getting a choice of two packages, where the Stage One includes a new intercooler, high-flow injectors and an Eaton MP62 supercharger, along with a StarChip ECU, upgraded hoses and a new air box, which allows the 2.0i MK3 engine to produce 241 BHP (175 kW) and 257 Nm of torque (190 lb-ft), the 2.0i MK3.5 to develop 241 BHP (180 kW) and 250 Nm of torque (190 lb-ft) and the 1.8SE MK3 / MK3.5 to generate 217 BHP (162 kW) and 238 Nm of torque (176 lb-ft).

If you want more power on your Mazda MX-5, than Stage Two is the obvious which is adding a high-flow air filter, a revised ECU, a stanless steel sports exhaust system and a new exhaust manifold. Thanks to these upgrades, the engines now develop 252 BHP (188 kW) and 282 Nm (208 lb-ft) on the 2.0i MK3, 258 BHP (192 kW) and 282 Nm (208 lb-ft) on the 2.0i MK3.5 and 231 BHP (171 kW) and 257 Nm (190 lb-ft) on the 1.8SE MK3 / MK3.5. Stage One can be bought from 4,295 GBP in the UK and for Stage Two customers will have to pay 5,455 GBP.
