Mazda readies seven tuned cars for its home Tokyo Auto Salon image

The Japanese automaker has prepared seven tuned models, all of them scheduled to make their official public debut during the Tokyo Auto Salon scheduled to begin on January 9.

The automotive venue needs an annotation – it has nothing to do with the traditional Tokyo Motor Show, with the Tokyo Auto Salon emulating America’s much more famous SEMA – it’s a tuning and aftermarket exhibition in the capital of Japan taking place between January 9 and 11 in 2015. Mazda is prepared for the venue, with the already revealed track variant of the upcoming MX-5 roadster – the circuit ready version draws its power from a four-cylinder 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine.

We also have on display a low-rider version of the CX-3 SUV, equipped with a modified front bumper and new side skirts, as well as shiny new black alloy wheels with red brake calipers. – and the same changes are applied to the new Mazda2, presented as the Demio Racing Concept. Mazda3 (Axela in Japan) in its hatchback and sedan iterations has not been forgotten – they feature new side sills, wheels, front bumper and a distinctive paint job, white for the first and red with grey stripes for the latter. Also, the larger Mazda6 and CX-5 SUV have received their own tweaks.
