The new Mazda RX-VISION Concept has been unveiled, with its rotary engine, as it will be making its public debut at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, in just a few hours.
The RX-8 may have a successor after all as Mazda isn’t dropping its rotary engine from the lineup, despite the one in the production sports car isn’t really that reliable. The newest model to get a rotary engine under its hood is a concept car, named the RX-VISION, which will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The model in question is only known to get the rotary unit so don’t expect any performance details so far because Mazda is currently keeping them a secret.
“I look forward to talking with you more about this vision we have revealed here today at the Mazda stand. Mazda will continue to take on new challenges in an effort to build a special bond with our customers and become their ‘one and only’ brand”, said Masamichi Kogai, the Mazda CEO.
The brand new Mazda RX-VISION Concept may seem familiar in its design and this is because the carmaker is using the stylish KODO design language in its creation. The model has an aggressive front fascia, a front lip spoiler, a prominent front grille, a rakish windscreen, front fender vents, rear diffuser, large alloy wheels, ventilated hood and a dual exhaust system, amongst others. The interior design is looking minimalist with the 3-spoke steering wheel, leather wrapped dashboard, bespoke instrument cluster, carbon fiber trim and alloy pedals.
