The Japanese based automaker Mazda has officially released a teaser image with the new generation of the MX-5, which will be unveiled next month.
After being spied numerous times until now, the new generation of the Mazda MX-5 is now being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of a teaser image, which has been released by the car manufacturer. As you were expecting, the image posted above is not revealing many details on the 2016 Mazda MX-5 but we are possibly seeing a solid folding roof, which will replace the current soft top used on the popular roadster.
The 2016 Mazda MX-5 is believed to gain the Kodo design language, which basically means an evolution of style. This can already be seen on models such as the Mazda6 or the Mazda3 and it is believed that the roadster will use the SKYACTIV-CHASSIS, which will help it shed some weight off its body, approximately 100 kg (220 lbs). The vehicle will be coming with a front mid-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive and it will be officially unveiled on the 3rd of September. The new-gen Mazda MX-5 should be making its public debut one month later, during the Paris Motor Show.
