Mazda will be officially pulling the wraps off a new body style of the Mazda2, the Sedan, at the 2014 Thailand International Motor Expo.
Mostly known for its “wannabe women”, Bangkok is getting ready to receive a “wannabe sedan” soon, in the shape of the Mazda2. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and it’s currently part of a report published by the guys from bangkokpost.com. The model in question will be offered for sale in several parts of Asia, at first, and it is currently taken into consideration the introduction of the model in Australia and Europe too.
The upcoming Mazda2 Sedan will be produced in Thailand and it will be powered by a 1.5 liter SKYACTIV-D unit, rated at 105 HP (77 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. The fuel economy will be identical as the one in the hatchback, 3.4L / 100km (83 mpg UK / 69.1 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions will stop at 89 g/km. A gasoline engine is also being considered for the local auto market, but international ones will probably get the 1.5 liter SKYACTIV-G, with its 75 HP (55 kW) and 135 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque, or the 90 HP (66 kW) and 148 Nm (109 lb-ft) of torque unit. The model will be introduced on the 28th of November. Hopefully psychologists will give their approval.
