A new body style of the Mazda2 has been officially unveiled by the company, over the web for the moment, ahead of its public debut which will be taking place in Thailand, next week.
After we have seen some updated versions at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, or the brand new CX-3 compact crossover, Mazda is now officially pulling the wraps off the Mazda2 Sedan. The model in question is supposed to be a smaller version of the Mazda6, in terms of design, which is more than ok, considering the fact that the vehicle already available is one of the best looking in the segment.
The new subcompact sedan has, of course, one of the most appealing designs and it will be going on sale in Thailand, in early 2015. Chances are we will see it in Australia and even in Europe too, but later on. Power to the model will be provided by a 1.5 liter diesel SKYACTIV-D engine, which is capable of producing a total of 105 HP (77 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. The fuel economy figures will stand close to the ones of the hatchback. More details on the new Mazda2 will be announced at the Thailand International Motor Expo, next week.
