Mazda3 MPS planned, to get AWD and 300 HP image

The Japanese based automaker Mazda is planning to introduce a hot version of the new Mazda3 generation, which should become available in a couple of years.

Hot hatch enthusiasts, be prepared to have a lot of choices when buying a new car because with the new generation of the Ford Focus RS in development, there will be another addition to the C-segment for powerful rides, the Mazda3 MPS. The model in question is believed to be making its appearance in a couple of years, as the guys from Automotive News are stating in their most recent report of the model.

According to our source, the new Mazda3 MPS will be based on the facelifted version of the Mazda3 and it will be coming with a more aggressive body kit, to help it stand out from a crowd and also to make it more aerodynamic. The model in question will also get a modified suspension system, larger wheels wrapped in high performance tires and probably a dual exhaust system. Power should be provided by a 2.5 liter turbocharged unit, which will be rated at 300 HP (223 kW), which might provide movement for both axles, as the performance hatchback has a pretty good chance of coming in with all-wheel drive.
