The British based automaker McLaren has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the 12C GT3, which is getting ready to enter new motorsport events.
Until the brand new P1 will hit the market, McLaren is keeping its models fresh and the latest example of such a supercar is the 12C GT3. According to the car manufacturer, the McLaren 12C GT3 has entered in several events for the 2013 season.
“As was confirmed at the close of last year, McLaren GT will produce further examples of the 12C GT3 available to compete in the 2013 season. These new models are eligible for all GT3 championships and, for the first time, see the 12C GT3 available for global competition”, as the automaker is saying in its official press release.
The McLaren 12C GT3 is being provided by a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which was updated for racing duty, mated to a six-speed sequential transmission. The model is also getting a carbon fiber MonoCell with aluminum front and rear subframes, an FIA approved safety cage, unique lightweight carbon fiber body panels and much more.
