McLaren 12C Spider debuts at Pebble Beach image

The McLaren 12C Spider was officially presented to the public over-seas in a world premiere, during the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

According to the British based automaker McLaren, the 12C Spider, the drop top version of the MP4-12C, was finally revealed in the United States for the first time, during the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Even if the McLaren 12C has finally made its over-seas debut, the company didn’t announce its official starting price in the country but we know that in the United Kingdom the supercar can be bought from 195,500 GBP.

As a quick reminder, the McLaren 12C Spider is powered by the same engine in the same configuration as its hardtop brother, the MP4-12C, which is the 3.8 liter twin turbo V6, producing a total output of 616 horsepower (625 PS / 460 kW). The unit is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch SSG transmission, which is allowing the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.1 seconds, the same as the MP4-12C. Top speed reached by the model is 204 mph. The McLaren 12C Spider is coming with an RHT folding roof system (Retractable Hart Top). The British supercar will start its deliveries worldwide in early 2013.
