McLaren 570S debuts in New York image

The world debut of the newest McLaren model, the 570S, has been made during the 2015 New York Auto Show.

The McLaren 570S is the first model in the company’s Sports Series. This is a rival for the Porsche 911 or the Audi R8 and it is currently being offered in a single body style, a two-door coupe. The sports car is looking familiar as the designers have taken inspiration from its larger brothers, the 650S and the P1 hypercar. Some of the features found on it include the standard carbon ceramic brakes, the new front and rear suspension system with adaptive dampers, the anti roll bars, the 19-inch alloy wheels, at the front, wrapped in 225/35 tires, and the rear 20-inch wheels with 285/35 tires and several other tweaks.

The best part of the new McLaren 570S is found under its hood where the familiar 3.8 liter V8 twin turbo engine is found. This was used on the MP4-12C and it was also borrowed by the P1 hypercar and also by the 650S. In the 570S, the unit is less powerful and it is producing a total output of 570 HP (419 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. This is enough to allow it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 3.2 seconds and to go up to 328 km/h (204 mph). The average fuel consumption is 9.2L / 100km (30.6 mpg UK / 25.5 mpg US) and the CO2 emissions stand at 258 g/km. Prices for the model in the UK will start from 143,250 GBP.
