A GT4 racing version of the recently unveiled McLaren 570S is getting ready to debut, as a recent report is indicating.
Mercedes-Benz is looking to develop a GT4 version of the AMG GT and Porsche is known to work on a Cayman GT4 and now another rival will come up, in the shape of the recently unveiled McLaren 570S. The model in question is also getting ready to receive a GT4 version which will be competing in the racing category around the world. The announcement is not official at this time but it has been confirmed by an inside source to Autocar. According to this, McLaren is not ruling out a return to Le Mans either but for the moment it will be focusing on the GT4 variant of the 570S.
The McLaren 570S is the first addition to the new Sports Series made by the company. This is cheaper, lighter, smaller and less powerful than the 650S and it can be ordered in the United States from 184,900 USD, being basically 80,000 USD cheaper than the 650S. In the UK, it stands at 143,250 GBP. The model has been unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show and it has adaptive dampers, carbon ceramic brakes and a monocoque. The 3.8 liter twin turbo engine is found under its hood as well as this is capable of putting down 570 HP (419 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph) and a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 3.2 seconds.
