This is the baby-McLaren, the brand new 570S, the brand’s answer to the Porsche 911, which will be making its public debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, in just a day’s time.
The McLaren rival for the Porsche 911 and for the Jaguar F-Type is called the 570S and it is an entry-level sports car which will slot below the current 650S in terms of size, performance, weight and cost. The sports ca has received a new front and rear suspension system with adaptive dampers, front and rear anti-rollbars, double wishbones, carbon ceramic brakes offered as standard, 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels, front to rear, wrapped in 225/35 and 285/35 respectively Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
The McLaren 570S is bringing the DAB digital radio in the cabin, the SIRIUS satellite radio, Bluetooth and several other tweaks which are controllable through the new 7-inch IRIS touch screen system, which is also integrating the climate controls. The model is also bringing the TFT digital instrument cluster, Alcantara and Nappa leather upholsteries, 8-speaker sound system or the Bowers & Wilkins audio system with 12 speakers and 1,280-watt.
Power is being provided by the familiar 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is also found on its larger brothers. This is now producing a total of 570 HP (419 kW) at 7,400 rpm and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, available between 5,000 rpm and 6,500 rpm. The unit is connected to the 7-speed SSG transmission which is sending power to the rear wheels.
