The first live images with the brand new McLaren 650S Spider Cam-Am Special Edition have been released recently, placing the model in the spotlights once more.
Do you remember the McLaren 650S Can-Am Special Edition? Well sure you do, and if you were interested in taking a closer look at it, than this is you best chance so far, since McLaren Newport Beach (FB) has released the first live images with it. The model has been designed in order to celebrate the 50th birthday of Can-Am racing series, taking place next year, and it has been created by MSO, taking cues from the company’s racing cars of the late 1960s.
The supercar pictured below is dressed in Mars Red, but the automaker says that customers will also be able to have it in Papaya Spark or Onyx Black, with the racing livery added to it as well. The hardtop has been made from carbon fiber, it has a quad exhaust system exiting in a different carbon fiber grille, an updated cabin with the plaque on the driver’s door, Alcantara leather, carbon fiber accents, forged alloy wheels with a unique design finished in gloss-black and secured with titanium bolts and several other goodies. Under its hood, McLaren has kept the 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, from the standard supercar, capable of producing, in this case, 641 HP. The automaker will be producing just 50 units of the exotic model and each one will go on sale next spring, starting from 334,500 USD.
