The British exotic manufacturer has announced the introduction of new styling and protection accessories for the entire Sports Series – the 540C, 570S, and 570GT.
The buyers of the McLaren Sports Series range – the 540C, 570S, and 570GT – can also find fitting accessories now that can both protect and style the supercar. For starters, McLaren is offering official indoor and outdoor covers, new branded floor mats and cargo-area mats, new “skid plates” designed to mount under the cars and serve as protection for the delicate front diffusers. The styling accessories include new wheel designs, as well as various paint color options for the cars’ brake calipers. Customers can also have new exterior carbon fiber replacement parts, in order to save weight – including new side intakes, mirror covers, side skirts, front splitters, rear bumpers, rear spoilers, rear diffusers, and rear decklids. Inside there are optional colored seatbelts, a carbon-fiber steering wheel, enlarged shift paddles, and carbon fiber trim.
In possibly more enticing related news, McLaren’s forthcoming “Hyper-GT” project set to arrive in 2019 as a spiritual successor for the McLaren F1 will be the second bespoke project – and the one to open up the “water tap”. More precisely, McLaren is reportedly allowing its Special Operations (MSO) division to build “two to three” unique cars per year from now on. The spiritual successor to the F1 will only be built in 106 examples, just like the original and comes after the first bespoke MSO project – the 12C-based X-1 from 2012.
