Eventually, the new McLaren MP4-12C has successfully drawn plenty of attention towards itself. This stunning beauty has generated abundant interest so much that the order books of McLaren Automotive are now full for the supercar.
And what makes the news more interesting is that the order books are full for the next 3 years.
While you may they that McLaren will ramp up production, that isn’t a likely possibility.
The regional director of McLaren Automotive Ian Gorsuch has said that they are looking at sustainable production and want to produce less cars as compared to the current competition.
Well hearing this, you must be wondering what made the company to produce less number of units? And the answer to this question is that the dealers of McLaren would be able to enjoy bigger profit margins if the productions are less. Following this, the residual value of the car will mount on higher level.
Gorsuch has further added – the key is making the dealership profitable. We will produce less cars, but the dealers must have more cars than the competition because the long term goal is profitability.
Considering the specs of the car, it gets its power from a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a whopping 592 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 443 pound-feet of maximum torque between 3,000 rpm to 7,000 rpm.
This power allows the car to make a sprint of 0-62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph. Besides, pricing of this car starts at $231,400.
