Police has seized a McLaren MP4-12C supercar in the United Kingdom after it was involved in a collision with a cyclist.
The 63-year old driver of the McLaren MP4-12C has hit a 41-year old cyclist in North London last week and the British supercar has been seized by the Police for not having the appropriate insurance. The cyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries from the accident. This isn’t the first time when the British police is seizing an expensive supercar with insurance problems and just earlier this year, a Lamborghini Aventador was facing the crusher for a similar problem.
The McLaren MP4-12C has been introduced in mid-2011. The model is being offered in two body styles, coupe and roadster, and it has a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout. Power is being provided by a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is good for 592 HP (441 kW) and 601 Nm (443 lb-ft). The unit is mated to a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. The 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint is made in just 3.1 seconds and top speed stands at 207 mph (333 km/h). Prices for the supercar stand at 170,000 GBP.
