The McLaren MP4-12C super-car will have a sticker price of between $230,000 and $250,000 when it goes on sale in the United States about a year from now.
McLaren’s pricing strategy places the high-performance MP4-12C sports car at about $1,500 less than its closest rival, the Ferrari 458 Italia.
Anyway to most buyers that can afford such cars, $1500 is … … you get the idea, and like Motortrend said, we doubt the MP4-12C’s price point will trigger other competitors to suddenly price their vehicles as if it were Black Friday ☺
MP4-12C customers will be able to specify a wide range of personalization options ranging from 17 paint finishes – including the iconic ‘McLaren Orange’ – and 14 interior trims can be specified inside the cabin.
Performance upgrades include a sports exhaust system, carbon ceramic brake discs, polished-finish calipers and two lightweight forged wheel options.
The only carbon on the basic car will be the chassis, but there is the option to festoon the lightweight material around the cabin, including on the mirror casings, engine bay panels and engine cover.
