The British based automaker McLaren is planning to develop a shooting brake version of the MP4-12C supercar which will go directly against the Ferrari FF.
Even if there is no official word on this subject from the car company just yet, the guys at autoexpress.co.uk are saying that the McLaren MP4-12C Shooting Brake will target the first all-wheel drive Ferrari, the FF. According to our source, the future McLaren MP4-12C Shooting Brake will get more space in the boot, it will offer an incredible performance with a top speed of 205 mph and it will also be cheaper than the 230,000 pounds Ferrari FF, being expected to cost around 150,000 GBP.
Power to the future McLaren MP4-12C Shooting Brake is expected to come from the standard engine fitted onto the regular MP4-12C, the 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8, which is developing a total output of 595 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and it has a peat torque of 443 lb-ft, available between 3,000 rpm and 7,000 rpm. The engine is estimated that it will allow the MP4-12C Shooting Brake to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 205 mph or 330 km/h.
