The McLaren MP4-12C Spider has been rendered once again and in this latest image, we can see the front end of the British supercar in what the drop-top version would probably look like.
After being rendered earlier this year, back in January, the McLaren MP4-12C Spider is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time by the guys at blog.caranddriver.com, who are revealing the front end of the British supercar. Even if there is no official word on the drop-top version of the McLaren MP4-12C just yet, rumors are saying that the engine currently found on the Coupe will be upgraded and even if the MP4-12C Spider won’t have a roof, it’s expected that the model will be faster than the regular version.
As a reminder, initial rumors were saying that the McLaren MP4-12C Spyder is expected to be powered by the same engine as the coupe version, which is coming with a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 unit, generating a total output of 592 horsepower at 7.000 rpm, with a peak torque of 443 lb-ft available between 3.000 and 7.000 rpm. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration in the coupe takes just 3.3 seconds and the supercar has a top speed of 205 mph. Prices of the McLaren MP4-12C start at 231.400 USD so the drop-top version is expected to be more expensive.
