The British based automaker McLaren has been recently placed into the spotlights after a render of the upcoming MP4-12C Spyder has hit the web.
Even if there is no official image with the McLaren MP4-12C spyder yet, the guys at teamspeed.com have done a wonderful job and this might actually be a “sketch” of the new drop-top version of the supercar. The “reincarnation” of the McLaren MP4-12C into a convertible has all the positive things in it into becoming an iconic car, just like the coupe, and even if we don’t have too many things on it yet, we must admit that it’s very attractive.
As a reminder, initial rumors were saying that the McLaren MP4-12C Spyder is expected to be powered by the same engine as the coupe version, which is coming with a 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 unit, generating a total output of 592 horsepower at 7.000 rpm, with a peak torque of 443 lb-ft available between 3.000 and 7.000 rpm. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration in the coupe takes just 3.3 seconds and the supercar has a top speed of 205 mph. Prices of the McLaren MP4-12C start at 231.400 USD so the drop-top version is expected to be more expensive.
