The British based automaker McLaren is planning to update the MP4-12C supercar with a minor facelift and the model is expected to hit the market sometimes next year.
The car manufacturer has already announced an updated version of the MP4-12C but the only upgrades spoken about were technical and they included the 3.8 twin-turbo V8 engine, until now. According to the guys at autoevolution.com, the McLaren MP4-12C will get a facelift and the car manufacturer is expected to fit the model with a redesigned front bumper made by MSO (McLaren Special operation) which should come with a carbon fiber apron and redesigned air intakes. Carbon-kevlar will also be used and the floor section will get extra diffusers.
No more details are known about the facelifted version of the McLaren MP4-12C, but the carmaker said that the supercar updated will be powered by an improved 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which will generate a total output of 616 horsepower, 25 HP more than the standard version. The unit will be mated to a recalibrated seven-speed SSG transmission which is promising better responsiveness. The 2013 McLaren MP4-12C will go on sale across Europe in October and it will have a starting price of 176,000 GBP, 7,500 GBP more than the current version.
