McLaren has finally released the first teaser image with the upcoming P1 GTR, which basically admits the existence of the powerful ride.
Just a couple of weeks ago we were telling you that McLaren has sent P1 GTR renderings to P1 owners but the company didn’t confirm this. Even so, that turned out to be true, considering the fact that the model in question is real, exists and it will be officially presented to the public this weekend, during the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, in a world premiere. The McLaren P1 GTR will basically be a track only version of the regular hybrid supercar.
The model in question will be coming with a larger rear wing, a more aggressive rear diffuser, new side skirts, a larger front splitter, redesigned air intakes, new wheels and some other tweaks to help it stand out from a crowd and also to make it faster on the track. The cabin might be stripped down, but this remains to be seen. As far as power goes, the output is expected to stand at approximately 986 HP and if you were hoping that this will be cheaper, think again, because the expected starting price is believed to stand at 3.2 – 3.4 million USD. The McLaren P1 GTR will be rivaling the LaFerrari FXX.
