The McLaren P1 GTR is just around the corner but even if it may be aimed specifically towards the track, this will be anything but cheap.
With the Ferrari developing the LaFerrari XX, the British based automaker McLaren is currently working out on its very own track version of the P1 hybrid supercar, which will be called the P1 GTR. The model in question is believed to be introduced sometimes next year and now, for the very first time, its price has been hinted. According to the guys from Jalopnik, the vehicle will be setting you back for approximately 3.35 million USD, which is significantly more than the road-legal version.
The McLaren P1 GTR will be gaining a lot of modifications compared to the regular variant and it will be more aerodynamically thanks to the GT style front splitter and to the 80 mm increased front track. The model will also get the lowered race spec fixed side, the different radiator ducts, the roof scoop, the aerodynamic blade flowing on the bottom of the door edges, hydraulically operated Drag Reduction System (DRS), a titanium and inconel made centrally positioned exhaust system and so on. Power is believed to be coming from the 3.8L twin turbo V8 engine and the electric motor and it should stand at 1,000 HP (736 kW).
