The McLaren P1 has been almost sold out in the United States, as the company’s North America director, Anthony Joseph, said.
The guys at Motor Authority have spoken with the McLaren director for North America, Anthony Joseph, during the 2013 New York Auto Show, on the P1, even if the hybrid supercar wasn’t brought to this event. According to our source, Joseph said that the P1 is almost sold out across the country.
“In North America we are about 75 percent sold on the car and we expect it to be completely sold out by the end of June”, as Anthony Joseph said.
The company’s official didn’t announce how many units out of the 375 worldwide have been aimed towards the North American auto market. As a quick reminder, the McLaren P1 is the company’s first ever production hybrid supercar. The model is rivaling the Ferrari LaFerrari and the upcoming Porsche 918 Spyder. The P1 is powered by a 3.8 liter V8 engine, producing 747 HP and 720 Nm of torque, helped by a 179 HP and 260 Nm of torque electric motor. Total output stands at 916 HP. The McLaren P1 has been officially presented to the public, in a world premiere, during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, last month.
