The convertible version of the brand new McLaren P1 has been recently rendered and we must admit that it looks even better than the original coupe hybrid supercar.
Did you ever imagine how the McLaren P1 Spider could look like? Well P1 Spider came to life, on paper at least and on our monitors. The image posted above represents a rendering and we can see the roof being chopped a lot lower than expected from any production supercar, but the result is simply stunning. McLaren didn’t announce its plans to introduce a P1 Spider, but don’t act too surprised if you will hear about it in sometimes next year.
If it will indeed make its way onto the market, the McLaren P1 Spider will have no direct competitor, as Ferrari isn’t producing a LaFerrari Spider. Power will come from the same 3.8L V8 twin turbo found on the regular P1, and from an electric motor, generating an extra 170 HP (132 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. The total output will stand at 916 HP (674 kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque. The P1 can accelerate form 0 to 100 km/h in just under 3 seconds and top speed is limited to 350 km/h (217 mph).
