New details on the upcoming McLaren P13 sports car have emerged as the model in question is getting closer and closer to be officially unveiled.
According to recent reports, the McLaren P13 will be costing approximately 120,000 GBP once it will become available for order, which is the equivalent of 145,500 EUR or 198,900 USD, at the current exchange rates, and it’s believed to beat its rivals from Ferrari and Porsche in terms of technology and other chapters. The new McLaren P13 will be going against the Porsche 911 and it will be smaller, lighter and less powerful than the current MP4-12C.
Despite the differences between the P13 and the MP4-12C, the two vehicles will actually share the same 3.8 liter V8 engine. The unit is also found, with more power, on the impressive P1 hybrid supercar. The engine which will make its way under the hood of the McLaren P13 is believed to produce between 450 HP and 500 HP and it should be mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, which will send its power to the rear wheels. Chances are that McLaren will pull the wraps off the P13 during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in March, and more details on the model will be announced then.
