The British based automaker is planning to introduce Spider and GT versions of the recently unveiled 570S.
The McLaren Sports Series range will soon increase with two more versions, which will be standing aside the already available 540C and 570S. The two models will be a Spider and a GT and they should arrive on the market sometimes in 2017. According to the guys from Autocar, the McLaren 570S Spider will basically be a smaller, less expensive version of the 650S Spider, getting a folding hard-top roof and some kg added to its total weight. The sports car will be making use of the same 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which should produce the same as in the solid roof variant.
Our source is stating that the new McLaren 570S Spider will arrive on the market approximately 12 months after a new body style, the 570S GT, which is said to go on sale sometimes next year. The GT will be more practical and more spacious, as it will be designed with long-distance touring in mind. The exotic model will be keeping the standard powertrain from the regular 570S but it will be offered with additional storage space and a more luxurious interior design, amongst others. Both versions will be coming with 570 HP (419 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque and they should reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in just a little over 3 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 328 km/h (204 mph).
