The upcoming entry-level supercar signed by McLaren, the so-called Sport Series, is smiling at us from a third teaser image, which has been released by the company, recently.
The newest creation to wear the McLaren badges on its body, and not only, has been called the Sport Series. This is an entry-level sports car which will be rivaling models such as the Porsche 911. The vehicle will be slotted below the current 650S and it will be getting a similar design to its more expensive brothers, the 650S and the P1, but it will be smaller and less powerful.
Despite it will not be as powerful as its two more expensive brothers, the McLaren Sport Series will share the same engine with them. We are talking about the 3.8 liter twin turbo V8, which will be detuned for the entry-level model. The sports car is expected to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately 4 seconds. The model should be unveiled sometimes next year, probably during the 2015 New York Auto Show, in April. Plans are to sell 2,000 units of it annually, by 2016. More details on the model are limited at this time.
