The upcoming entry-level sports car made by McLaren is expected to receive a different name once it will be officially presented to the public, next year.
The entry-level model signed by McLaren has started testing earlier this year and in the first few months we referred to it as the P13. Close to the end of the year, new reports indicated that this will be known as the Sport Series and now, according to yet another report, the model will be renamed once again. Don’t ask what the sports car will be called eventually because no one outside the British company knows exactly.
Other than receiving a new name, the new McLaren entry-level sports car will be just like rumors were stating, smaller than the current 650S, lighter, less powerful and, of course, cheaper. This will be using the same 3.8 liter twin turbo engine as its larger brother and also as the one found on the hybrid supercar, the P1. This will be rated at just over 500 HP. The vehicle will be aimed towards models such as the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar F-Type and it will be officially presented to the public in April, next year, during the 2015 New York Auto Show.
