The British based automaker McLaren has dropped a new teaser image with the upcoming Sport Series range, which will be introduced in 2015.
McLaren has managed to put the upcoming Sport Series range into the spotlights once again, for the second time in a week, with the help of a new teaser image, which has been released over the web. The upcoming Sport Series will be positioned below the current 650S and it will be offered in two body styles, coupe and spider. The previous “official” name for the model in question has been the “P13”.
The McLaren Sport Series will get butterfly doors, as it is shown in the new teaser image, and it will be showing a lot of similarities to the 650S and to the P1, in terms of design at least. The future sports car will be inheriting a carbon fiber composite chassis and it will take its power from the same 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 engine, which is also found on the 650S and on the P1. The unit will be detuned compared to the two models and it will be allowing the coupe to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 4 seconds. The Sport Series range will go on sale next year.
