Car manufacturer McLaren will open its first two showrooms in Germany, in Dusseldorf and Hamburg, which are set for the official inauguration in time for the German Formula 1 Grand Prix that is will take place at the Nurburgring this weekend.
According to the manufacturer, both showrooms will be part museum, as the Hamburg one is hosting Ayrton Senna’s MP4/6, the car in which he won his third and last championship in 1991, and the Dusseldorf showroom featuring Alain Prost’s MP4/5 on which he won the world championship in 1989.
“A total of four dealers in Germany were selected by McLaren to offer the best in customer sales and service for a range of McLaren cars, beginning with the ground-braking new MP4-12C high-performance sports car. Every showroom will exhibit a piece of history to highlight McLaren’s rich heritage with each McLaren showroom displaying a real McLaren race car, driven by some of the finest racing drivers in the world”, said officials of the automaker.
Two other showrooms are set for opening their doors this autumn, in Frankfurt and Munich, bringing McLaren in a total of 19 countries with 35 bespoke retailers.
