The all-new Volkswagen Beetle Convertible has been officially unveiled ahead of its public debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently pulled the wraps off the new 2013 Beetle Convertible, by releasing the first official images and details of the car, ahead of what it will be its public debut during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. According to the car manufacturer, the interior design of the VW Beetle Convertible is pretty much the same but in order to make it safer, the model now has strengthened A pillars, along with two pop-up roll bars, which were added behind the rear seats.
The 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible will be available across the United States with the 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine, producing 170 HP and 177 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, along with the 2.0 liter TDI four-cylinder diesel with its 140 HP and 236 lb-ft and the with the 2.0 liter turbocharged TSI petrol four-cylinder, generating 200 HP and 207 lb-ft. The TSI will be mated to either a six-speed manual or to a DSG automatic transmission. The new generation of the VW Beetle Convertible will be launched in the U.S. later on this year and additional details on it, like its price list, will be announced then.
