The first official images with the new generation of the Volkswagen Golf VII GTI, in its concept form, have recently hit the web.
After the new generation of the regular five-door hatchback Volkswagen Golf has been revealed just a few weeks ago, ahead of its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on the 27th of September, the company’s fans kept asking what will the next Golf GTI look like and the answer is coming these days from the guys at Auto Bild, who have managed to get their hands on a few official images which are revealing the upcoming hot hatch.
The all-new Volkswagen Golf VII GTI will be powered by a 2.0 liter TFSI turbo engine, which is producing a total output of 220 horsepower (164 kW), but an optional performance package will add 10 more HP. The peak torque stands at 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) and the model is burning an average of 6.6 liters of fuel very 100 km (42.8 mpg UK / 35.6 mpg US). The o to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration takes just 6.6 seconds in the new Golf GTI and the model can reach a top speed of 246 km/h (152 mph).
