Mercedes-Benz has recently pulled the wraps off the facelifted versions of the E-Class Coupe and E-Class Cabrio.
After the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan and E-Class Estate have been unveiled last month, time has come for the German based automaker to pull the wraps off the “new” E-Class Coupe and E-Class Cabrio. As you can see from the images posted below, the two models are continuing the same design adopted by the facelifted E-Class Sedan and E-Class Estate and they are coming with larger headlights, with the quad headlamp and with all the other minor tweaks, which will help them differentiate from the regular models.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabrio and E-Class Coupe will get the 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine for the E200 entry-level version, which is producing 181 BHP, and in the E250, the same unit will generate 208 BHP. The two models will receive 168 BHP from the in the E220 CDI and 201 BHP in the E250 CDI. The top of the line will be the E350, which is coming with a 3.0 liter V6 common rail diesel, generating 248 BHP. Mercedes-Benz says that the E500 has been dropped from the UK lineup.
Two transmissions are available for the E-Class Coupe facelift and E-Class Cabrio facelift, depending on the engine chosen, a six-speed manual and an updated seven-speed automatic, both of them getting the brake energy recuperation and the stop/start systems as standard. Other standard systems include the Collision prevention assist, the attention assist and more, while the options list will include a multi-purpose camera, Distronic Plus, Steering Assist, Brake Assist Plus with Junction Assist and more. Prices have not been confirmed yet but the facelifted E-Class Coupe E200 is expected to go on sale from approximately 33,000 GBP.
