Seat has recently pulled the wraps off the new-gen Leon ST, which should go on sale across the Old Continent over the following weeks.
After it has leaked a couple of times, the brand new 2014 Seat Leon ST is finally here, with the Spanish based automaker finally unveiling it. The model in question has a cargo capacity of 587 liters, which can be expanded to 1,470 with the rear seats folded. This is less than what the new VW Golf generation or the new Skoda Octavia have to offer, despite the fact that the same platform has been used when making all three.
The 2014 Seat Leon ST has the same wheelbase length as the five-door hatchback but the rear overhang has grown by 270 mm and this has increased the weight too, by 45 kg, to a total of 1,233 kg (2,718 lbs). As for the engine lineup, the petrol units will include the 86 HP (63 kW) and 105 HP (77 kW) 1.2 liter TSI, the 122 HP (90 kW) and 140 HP (103 kW) 1.4 liter TSI and the 180 HP (132 kW) and 250 Nm of torque (184 lb-ft) 1.8 liter TSI. Diesel lovers will be able to choose between the 90 HP (66 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque 1.6 liter TDI, the 150 HP (110 kW) 2.0L TDI and the 184 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) 2.0L TDI in the FR. Additional details on the model will be announced close to its launch.
