The guys over at Auto Express have managed to get their hands on the first images of the new BMW M3 generation, ahead of the model’s official unveil scheduled for summer 2014. The images posted below are showing the regular 3-Series being transformed into the high performance vehicle, getting the “classic” M body kit, the lowered ride height and the exhaust system. The new M3 generation will weigh approximately 100 kg less than before thanks to lightweight materials used in its construction.
According to our source, the new generation of the BMW M3, which is wearing the 2015 model year in its name, will be powered by the 3.0 liter six-cylinder twin turbo engine, which will produce approximately 450 BHP, 30 BHP more than the V8 4.0L used in the outgoing model. The torque figure will stand at 550 Nm, 150 Nm more, available from 2,000 rpm. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration will take 4.3 seconds and top speed will be limited to 155 mph, but without the limiter, the model will reach 180 mph. The new BMW M3 is expected to make its public debut, along with the M4 Coupe, at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, in November.
