BMW has officially pulled the wraps off its newest creation up to date, the so-called Z4 GTLM, during the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.
In between the development of some “green” versions of its current models and planning on some future vehicles, BMW has found the time to officially present the new Z4 GTLM. This has been introduced at the 2015 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance and it is getting a livery inspired by the 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL, which managed to get its first victory at Sebring.
“In honor of that success, the two BMW Z4 GTLMs of BMW Team RLL will sport special designs as they compete on the “Sebring International Raceway”. Car number 25 will carry the colors of the winning BMW 3.0 CSL of 1975. At an unveiling ceremony, which was part of the “Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance” in northern Florida, BMW of North America presented the anniversary design of the vehicles to the public for the first time”, said BMW in its official press rerelease.
The brand new BMW Z4 GTLM will be wearing this special livery in two units during the 12-hour race of Sebring, which has been scheduled for the 21st of March. The model in question has been introduced in the presence of Sam Posy, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Brian Redman, the winners of the 1975 race, with guests such as Jochen Neerpasch, the first managing director of BMW Motorsport GmbH. As you probably already figured it out, no performance details on the BMW Z4 GTLM have been released at this time, but that doesn’t mean you cannot enjoy it in the photo gallery posted below.
