The MG GTS crossover has been officially unveiled as it will go on sale next year in China.
If you thought that the MG name means nothing anymore in the automotive industry, think again, because the brand has officially pulled the wraps off its newest creation, the GTS. The vehicle in question is a crossover which will go on sale in China, next year, and it is basically an evolution of the CS Concept, which has been shown at Auto Shanghai, back in 2013. Sales of the vehicle will begin in the first half of 2015, in the Asian country.
The MG GTS will become available with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo engine, which is good for 217 HP (162 kW) and 349 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. The unit is connected to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission, sending power to the all-wheel drive on-demand. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the crossover needs 8 seconds. In the near future, the model will get new GDI engines, which will include a 1.0 liter three-cylinder, a 1.4 liter and a 1.5 liter. A new dual clutch transmission, which will be more affordable, will be added too. More details on it are limited at this time.
