The most powerful Audi production vehicle ever has been officially unveiled by the car manufacturer and it has been called the R8 Competition.
The German based automaker will be officially presenting the 2015 Audi R8 Competition to the public at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, in a few weeks, but before that will happen, the company has decided to officially pull the wraps off its body. This has been described as “the most powerful Audi production vehicle to-date” and it has a 5.2 liter V10 engine under its hood. The unit is capable of producing no less than 570 HP (525 kW) and it has been connected to the popular 7-speed S tronic transmission, which is sending power to the all-wheel drive system. The supercar can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).
The new Audi R8 Competition has been inspired by the R8 LMS and it has some carbon fiber components on it which include the rear diffuser, rear wing, side blades, flics, mirror caps and front spoiler and it is riding on gloss black alloy wheels. Other features found on it include the ceramic brakes, the anodized red brake calipers, the high gloss black tailpipes and so on. The model will be produced in just 60 units and it will become available only in the United States. The carmaker will begin taking orders for it next month but the first deliveries will start in 2015. No pricing details have been announced yet.
