The Czech based automaker Skoda has recently pulled the wraps off the new Octavia generation, during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of speed.
The brand new Skoda Octavia RS is wearing the 2014 model year in its name and it’s the fastest production Octavia ever made. Power to the model is being provided by a 2.0 liter TSI engine, sourced from the new VW Golf GTI, which is good for 220 HP (162 kW). The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in the model takes 6.8 seconds and top speed stands at 248 km/h (154 mph).
Besides the petrol burner, the new generation of the Skoda Octavia RS is also coming with a diesel engine, taken from the new Golf GTD. The new 2.0 liter TDI unit is producing 184 HP (135 kW). The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in this version takes 8.1 seconds and top speed stands at 232 km/h (144 mph). The model can easily stand out from a crowd thanks to its more aggressive body kit, dual exhaust system, lowered ride height, larger alloy wheels and, of course, the RS badges. The new Octavia RS is also coming with an electronic differential lock and ESC.
