Mercedes-AMG E 63 taken by Posaidon to Bugatti Veyron levels image

This is the German take on the hotrod segment, with the E63 stripped of unnecessary amenities to lose weight and given more power than the Bugatti Veyron.

And the best of all – the modded car is still street-legal – as it boasts no less than 1,020 horsepower. The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 is already on its way and will bring a little more than 600 horsepower – but it also loses the grandiose 5.5-liter V8. So, German tuner Posaidon looks ready to send off into the sunset the previous generation with a bang – thanks to the RS850+ kit. The naming convention is a bit misleading, since the model boasts from the upgraded 5.5-liter biturbo V8 no less than 1,020 horsepower and 1,033 pound-feet (1,400 Newton-meters) of torque. And yes, they are looking to trump into Brabus territory by arguing they have the most powerful street legal Mercedes ever.

The incredible specifications of course mandated extensive work. Posaidon’s experts have practically reworked the entire engine, modified the transmission to make up for the torque increase that was possible due to the bigger turbos and upgraded ECU. The AWD model can now sprint to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds – with speed limited at 218 mph (368 km/h) to preserve the integrity of the tires. Stopping power is also decisive, with carbon-ceramic 16.5-inch (420-millimeter) brakes with six-piston calipers in front and 14.2-inch (360-mm) four-piston components in the back. To lose weight, the model only has two seats – lightweight units taken from the C63 AMG Black Series. And there are numerous carbon fiber elements as well – the hood, bumper, mirror caps, and rear diffuser.
